To buy or sell a computer, simply call 1-800-786-0717. Since 1988, the American Computer Exchange has brokered tens of thousands of used microcomputers worldwide. Sellers, both companies and individuals, list equipment for sale on our database. When buyers call, we locate what they need and charge the seller a 10% - 15% commission.
To protect both the buyer and the seller, the buyer sends money for their purchase to us. We deposit the money in an escrow account. The sellers send all equipment to our offices in Atlanta. We inspect the computers and ship them to the buyer. We hold the buyers money for two business days after they receive the equipment. This two day period constitutes an operational warranty, the buyer cannot change their mind, but if any thing is missing or malfunctioning, the seller must rectify the situation. It is the seller's option to resolve the problem or take the equipment back and the buyer receives a refund. Fewer than 2% of our transactions incur any problem.
For years, many have relied upon the AmCoEx Index of Used Computer Prices to help determine values for used computers. This index appears regularly in numerous newspapers, business journals, and computer publications including Macworld magazine. The index provides real data based on actual trades at the American Computer Exchange. The index is provided to publications at no charge. If you would like to see the index in a publication, please write, fax, or email the editor and let them know this information is valuable to you.

AmCoEx Used Computer Price Calculator - Windows Version 2.04 (848K)
ACECALC v2.04 is the latest version of the widely used price estimating software package that allows registered
users to accurately estimate the value of used IBM compatible and Macintosh personal computers. Version 2.04 of
the software incorporates new printing ability, the addition of more Pentium and PowerMac based systems, and
updated CD-ROM support. The software uses a complex series of algorithms based on the American Computer
Exchange's nine years of experience in matching buyers and sellers of used computers to create an estimated
value of a used computer.
These algorithms not only take into account the configuration of the computer but also take into account the demand of the computer based upon actual previous trades. In addition, the software also utilizes a specific depreciation schedule for the computer to accurately adjust the value over the operational life of the software. New releases of the software come out quarterly and incorporate updated algorithms, new model introductions, and general enhancements as requested by current subscribers. Subscriptions are available on an annual and quarterly basis.
The ACECALC software has been an overwhelming success for the American Computer Exchange due to its popularity with a wide variety of users. The software is an excellent reference for corporations, insurance agents, and other computer related industries looking to quickly and accurately estimate the value of a variety of different computer equipment and is already in use by such companies as:
ALCOA, Cummins Diesel, Boston Edison,
